Tot School #3

Lucas is 14 Months Old
Tot School

This week in tot school. . .

We played with our stacking and nesting cups!

I would build the tower and every time he tried to add a piece it would fall over.

He prefers to nest them like this instead.

Here Lucas is looking at a book he loves books! A few months ago we made some eavestrough bookshelves for a little corner in our playroom I also added some chairs, its become one of his favorite spots to hangout!

Lucas loves this latches board by Melissa and Doug and always plays with it, his favorite pieces are the cat and dog (which are now lost since he carries them everywhere!!)

Since learning to walk a few weeks ago this has become another favorite that he plays with daily, its been great helping him balance.

Dominic has a journal that we work on (almost) daily, and every time we take it out Lucas tries to grab at the pencil crayons and notebook. So last week I picked up a second notebook for Lucas to scribble in so that Dominic can work with a little less distraction.

I love this picture! it looks like Lucas is trying to solve a math question by counting out his fingers!

Mr Independent! does not like to be fed so this week I let him spoon feed himself. Meal times were a little bit messier but he sure is proud of himself!

I cut up a bunch of paper in different textures and colors and we did a paper collage!

To make things a bit easier I brushed his paper with glue before he started

Here is his masterpiece.

Dominic and I made up a batch of our favorite play-dough recipe this week

Lucas wasn't too sure of it at first, but then ended up having a great time..... and he didn't eat it!!

rolling our the dough!

Here is Lucas talking on a play phone, another toy he plays with daily!

"hello hello..... bbbbmraraodfadr.... bye"

Yes that is exactly what he says LOL!!

Tot School #2

Lucas is 14months
Tot School

This week in Tot School.....

We did a glitter and glue craft... I love how focused he is!

Here he is feeding the baby doll.

Lucas love to play with our wet wipes container, so I gave him this old one to play with as well as 10 craft sticks and he had lots of fun putting them in and taking them out. We also counted them as he did it. He can count to 3 and also says 6 &7. (I tried to get a video but my batteries died Ill try again this week)

Clapping for himself :)

Here he is helping his big brother build a tower with the stars
Lucas kept passing Dominic the pieces.

We have filled our sensory table with dried beans (kidney beans, garbanzo beans, and black eyed peas)

Lucas loves to scoop them and pour them.

Here he is filling up the container.

This is his favorite activity and spends a lot of time at the sensory bin each day!

We also did some painting this week, and like everything else Lucas had to get a taste!

Lucas has about 5 teeth coming in right now so he was a little cranky this week, but I think overall we had a great week!!

Little Photographer

Dominic has developed a strong interest in taking pictures, so after I received a new camera for Christmas I gave him my old one. I have covered all the camera basics with him and now he is going picture crazy!

this one makes me dizzy!
I brought his camera when I picked him up from school so that he could take some pictures outside

He has been having lots of fun taking pictures of random things he takes pictures of everything from his toys to close ups of his brothers ears.

I told him that he has to ask permission before he takes someone's picture, we passed by some girls walking their dog and they gave him the OK, he was very excited

We are going to pick his favorite pictures and print them out and keep a photo journal, I think that'll be a great way to keep memories!

This is my favorite photo of his so far... Its got me thinking we should copy this idea and make a lego pirate adventure book.

Our First Tot School!

Lucas is 14 months
Tot School

I have been wanting to participate in tot school for awhile now, but Dominic is too big, and Lucas wasn't quite big enough! Now at 14 Months old it is time for us to join in on the fun!

This is one of Lucas' favorites! He loves to take the rings off and then put them back on.

Here he is reading one of his new books from Christmas, Lucas loves to look at all books but he especially likes this one because of the bright pages and the peek-a-boo flaps.

Lucas likes to put things inside of other things, here he is putting the peg people inside their truck.

After lots of practice Lucas has mastered the art of walking (and running away from mama!)

Here Lucas is working on his hinges board, each door he opens has a magnetic animal behind it he likes to take them out and put them on our fridge.

And of course there was our fun sensory experience with the shaving cream (which he had to get a taste of YUCK!)

Also this week Lucas started doing 2 new signs; Bath and Please.

Yesterday I put some shaving cream in our sensory table, the kids really enjoyed it!
Especially Mr.Lucas
Once they had played with it for awhile I added some yellow and red paint and let them explore the colours.
We had fun making a BIG mess!

A New Favourite

I debated on whether or not to buy Lucas this toy for Christmas but Im so glad that I did! He LOVES it, it is one of very few toys that actually holds his attention for longer than 30 seconds
Opening the doors with the keys is still too difficult for him, but that doesnt stop him from trying!

He loves to open and shut things and put things inside of things so this toy is just perfect!

It has animals that you put in to the doors.

and shapes to put in the top!
