And for our art project we did shape prints using the shapes from our shape sorter toy
He really enjoyed this project, he thought it was fun to bang the shapes and watch some of the paint splatter
and of course it would be a true painting experience if he didnt get a taste, right?

I love the shapes! We taste paint at my house too.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a mess! Love it!
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of the time I panicked and called poison control when my son tipped back the paint bottle and took a drink. Glad to see you're much more rational. :) I would have never thought of using the sorter shapes to paint with - great idea.
ReplyDeleteWe love this book, and you chose a great extension for your son's age. The last picture cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteThe messiness continues! I love it! Was the clean-up just as fun as the crafting?
ReplyDeleteclean up is always a blast lol especially now that Lucas has entered the stage of not wanting his hands and face cleaned!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why he had paint all over his face - and then I saw your last picture, LOL, very cute!
ReplyDeleteWe just took this book out of the library! I have been doing a shapes theme with our art group and wanted to share this book with them. I love the idea of using the shapes from the shape sorter, ours is packed away and I totally forgot about it. Juliette will love playing with it and Emily will love painting with it PERFECT!!
