    I was just reading through your Tot School post and saw that you asked about themes. I started working with themes at the begining of this year. It certainly makes it easier to source activities and make resources when you are only thinking about a particular topic, however I have found it to be more time consuming than working without a theme. I think we'll mix it up a bit - mostly theme work, but some weeks (like this one) we won't have a theme.

    My daughter is three and I will be asking her what she would like to learn more about and incorporate her ideas into our themes. When preparing activities I always make sure that I can include what my children enjoy doing in the themes (that's what I love about making up activities). For example, I have recently made a few different styles of nature scavenger hunts to fit in with our themes as my children love being outside.
